Our Envoy Programme is rolling out nicely. We just had a great event in Shanghai, following our firstย meeting in San Francisco.
A big shoutout to Katherine Wei, our Envoy for China and Mongolia, as well as Eugenio Bregolat, envoy coordinator for Asia and Pacific. They picked a fantastic spot, Sichuan Citizen, popular among both locals and expats, a gastronomic paradise in the heart of the former French Concession.
We had 12 attendees, which is a good turnout, especially considering the short notice and fewer NomadMania members in China (which will hopefully change in the near future.) You’ll notice in the first photo that most guests were either visiting or expat non-Chinese. Our plan is to expand and engage more with the Chinese travel community!

Interesting facts about this meeting
Lorenzo Riccardi was the only UN Master among us.
Three participants were Chinese.
Three were women travellers.
Surprisingly Ukrainians constituted the majority (4 out of 12).
Matei Ruso decided on his visit to Shanghai mainly because of this event! He flew all the way from Brussels!
This is a great example of what we envision for NomadMania’s future: hosting our events worldwide and inspiring travellers to meet up, connect and share their experiences!
How did everything go
The meeting started at 5 PM with casual drinks and introductions. Conversations flowed, with people swapping seats and sharing some of their best travel experiences.
Later, we gathered around a round table for a shared dinner, celebrating NomadMania until the restaurant closed.
The recent NomadMania meeting in Shanghai is proof of the magic when travellers meet in person! We are just starting and soon more and more similar events will pop up all over the globe.
Make sure to keep an eye on our calendar and hopefully, we’ll meet you somewhere around the globe!
