Sokh is an exclave of Uzbekistan located within Kyrgyzstan. It’s in the Fergana Valley region and is known for its complex ethnic and geopolitical dynamics, as the majority of its population is ethnic Tajik. Until recently it was practically impossible to visit Sokh. However, we arrange it as a special add-on trip during our Conference #5 in Fergana.
See the trip report by Harry Mitsidis and Orest Zub who visited Sokh recently.
Nestled in the heart of Central Asia this pocket of land in the fertile Fergana Valley boasts a rich tapestry of history and ethnic diversity that enriches the area with vibrant traditions, language, and customs. The landscape of Sokh is marked by rolling hills, pastoral farmland, and mountain views that beckon visitors seeking both tranquility and adventure.
Despite its compact size, the enclave is a testament to the enduring spirit of its people, who have adapted to living at a geopolitical crossroads. Exploring Sokh provides a rare opportunity to experience a place where cultures intersect and history is etched into daily life, all while surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Central Asia.

There is a slight possibility that this trip will be cancelled at short notice due to weather or government restrictions, in which case a full refund will be given. The cost is 590 EUR per person.
