NomadMania, with our local partner Gaze Nepal Tours, is excited to announce a captivating 12-day tour (with an optional 4-day extension) through the heart of Nepal, from March 27 to April 7(11), 2025. This journey offers a unique opportunity to delve into Nepal’s spiritual and cultural heritage, explore stunning landscapes, and connect with local communities by staying with host families or visiting a local school.

During the trip, we will visit two NomadMania regions and two DARE places (Mustang Kingdom in the first part of the tour and Kanchanpur District in the optional extension).
So, with this journey, you’ll not only uncover the hidden spiritual and social essence of Nepal but also boost your NomadMania credentials. However, this trip has been especially devised to appeal to the slow traveller. NomadMania Founder Harry Mitsidis will be leading the group from NomadMania’s side.

The detailed itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and Unveiling the Secrets of Tantrism and the Enigmatic Aghora
Arrive in Kathmandu, a city where ancient traditions blend with vibrant modernity. After checking into your hotel, take time to relax and acclimate to this bustling capital.
- Visit Pashupatinath Temple: In the late afternoon, visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to Lord Shiva. Witness the vibrant rituals and serene ambiance of this holy Hindu site.
- Interaction with the Aghora: a group of Hindu ascetics associated with Tantric practices. They are known for their extreme spiritual rituals, which often involve unconventional practices like meditating in cremation grounds, using human ashes, and even rituals involving human remains. The Aghori seek to transcend societal norms, including fear and disgust, to achieve spiritual liberation and oneness with the divine, often challenging conventional notions of purity and impurity.In detail, your interaction with the Aghori will include:

• Ascetic Practices: Learn about their rigorous rituals and extreme asceticism, as they push physical and spiritual boundaries in their pursuit of enlightenment.

Day 2: Pokhara – Exploring Gandaki Trout Farm and Lakeside Serenity
- Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, take a flight to Pokhara, the city of lakes and mountains.
- Arrival in Pokhara: Check in at the hotel.
- Scenic Drive to Gandaki Trout Farm: Begin the journey with a scenic drive to Gandaki Trout Farm. Enjoy a warm welcome with tea or coffee and an introductory briefing about the farm’s sustainable practices.
- Farm Tour: Explore the trout farming process, learn about sustainable methods, and observe different stages of trout development. Visit organic vegetable gardens and fruit orchards to discover organic farming techniques and seasonal crops.
- Interactive Farm Experience: Engage in trout fishing, guided by farm staff. Participate in a cooking class where you’ll prepare traditional Nepali dishes using fresh ingredients from the farm, including the trout you’ve caught.

Day 4: Dive into Thakali Culture & Cuisine in Lete
Continue your journey from Ghandruk along scenic trails toward Lete, a village renowned for its rich Thakali culture and cuisine. The road winds through rugged landscapes, offering stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
- Tatopani Hot Springs Experience: Take a refreshing break at the Tatopani hot springs before reaching Lete. Enjoy a dip in the naturally heated waters, surrounded by lush greenery and mountains—an ideal way to rejuvenate after your travels.
- Arrival in Lete – Thakali Traditions Unveiled:

Arrive in Jomsom, the capital of Lower Mustang, a tranquil high-altitude town. Take some time to explore the serene surroundings, enjoy the crisp mountain air, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere as you prepare for the upcoming adventure in the Mustang region.

Day 6: Lower Mustang Exploration – Sacred Sites and Ancient Villages
Start your day with an early morning drive to explore the stunning landscapes and cultural heritage of Lower Mustang:
- Dhumba Lake (2830 meters): Visit this serene, calm lake nestled at the foot of the beautiful Nilgiri peak, located just 5 km south of Jomsom. Walk around the lake, which remains frozen during mid-winter, and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
- Thini Village: Explore the antique village of Thini, situated near Dhumba Lake, offering delightful views of Jomsom and its surroundings. Thini is also home to the Snow Leopard Cave, adding to its mystique.

At an altitude of 2,972 meters, the Lubra Valley is a hidden gem nestled in the Himalayas, home to one of the few Bon religious communities in Nepal. This unique village, with its mud houses, chhorten, and traditional way of life, offers a rare glimpse into a lesser-known spiritual tradition.

Day 8: Lo Manthang – The Walled City and the Lost Caves
After breakfast and bidding farewell to the Bon community, continue your journey to Upper Mustang, where you’ll explore the ancient cliff dwellings known as the Lost Caves of Mustang.
- Lunch: Enjoy a picnic-style lunch during the trek, surrounded by dramatic landscapes.
- Chhusang Village and Sky Caves: Visit Chhusang, a small settlement on the way to Upper Mustang, flanked by towering cliffs filled with sky caves. These ancient caves, along with Tangbe’s organic apple orchards and farmlands, are must-see sights along the way.
- Nepali Grand Canyon at Chele: After crossing a small metal bridge over the Kaligandaki River below the sky caves, take a 45-minute uphill walk to Chele. Transfer to the airport for your departure. Alternatively, opt for a final city tour, exploring any last-minute sights and local markets before heading to the airport. Those continuing will have a day to relax in Kathmandu.

Day 13: Kathmandu to Lumbini – Spiritual Start and Meditation
- Morning: Flight from Kathmandu to Lumbini (approx. 40 minutes). Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to a serene hotel.

•A 40% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm the reservation.
•Full payment must be made upon the arrival of the travelers.
•Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card (subject to additional fees), or cash. - Cancellation Policy:
•Cancellations made before 30 days before departure: 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
•Cancellations made less than 30 days before departure: No refund. - Changes to Itinerary:
•Gaze Nepal reserves the right to alter the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, strikes, or safety concerns. Any changes will be communicated to clients as early as possible, and alternatives will be provided if necessary. - Liability:
•Gaze Nepal shall not be held liable for any damages, injuries, or losses that occur during the tour due to natural disasters, strikes, or other circumstances beyond our control. - Insurance:
Travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers, covering accidents, illness, medical evacuation, and loss of luggage. - Health and Safety:
