We are incredibly sad to announce the sudden passing on February 2nd of UN Master from Sweden, Hans Ollongren, aged just 67. Hans completed every UN country just a few months ago by visiting Bhutan and participating in our NomadMania awards broadcast at the end of November.

Friend and fellow traveller from Sweden Bengt Hildebrand writes the following:
Hans was born in 1955 and was a corporate airline official working for and around Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) for most of his career.
He joined the Swedish national travel club “Club100” in 2014 and was very active during his membership years, organising local meetings in the Stockholm area as well as the club’s 2022 annual meeting in Swedish Laponia. He was also, for several years, head of the Club100 election committee. He was highly appreciated for his friendliness and organisational skills. He attended most, almost all, Club100-events over his membership years.
He finished 193 in Bhutan in 2022 and became the 15th Swede UN master. Nevertheless, he remained a keen traveller with a special love for islands. At the time of his death, he was planning a trip to French Polynesia and Pitcairn with me and a few other travellers. Only a week ago we sat down to plan our flights and detail our itinerary. Hans’ last Club100 event was the joint meeting with the Danish travel club DBK in Copenhagen, January 27-29, where Hans was in great spirit and seemed, as always, to very much enjoy chatting with other travellers and listening to the presentations.
In recent years Mr Hans Ollongren (middle) often travelled with fellow Swedes and Club100 members Michael Cederborg (left) and Bengt Hildebrand (right). The photo was taken at Boali Falls in the Central African Republic in 2017
Hans Ollongren is missed and mourned by his girlfriend, her children and many friends in and outside of Club100.
