Recently we launched a new app. You can see all major new features of NomadMania 2.0 here. Obviously there are many things to improve. So, we welcome any suggestion from you and continue to work hard on further regular updates.

19/12/2024 – Version 2.0.28
In this update, we’ve introduced an authentication feature to the app. Now, you can see whether a user is authenticated directly within the app and have the option to authenticate another user if you know them.
User authentication serves as a way to confirm that a member is a real person, enhancing the safety and trust within the NomadMania community.

In the latest version, we’ve introduced three updates to enhance the app’s user-friendliness:
Larger Avatar Preview:
Tap your avatar on the profile screen to see a bigger, clearer preview. Perfect for getting a better view of those profile pictures that are taken from a distance.
Improved Notifications:
Stay in the loop with new notifications for friend requests with image badges, that make it much easier to recognize the user 🙂
Map Scale Feature:
Navigating has never been easier. Our new map scale helps you measure distances effortlessly, so you can plan your routes with precision. We positioned the scale directly above the ‘travels’ icon to minimize distractions from the map and its other functionalities.

In this update, we’re excited to introduce three new buttons on the map: “Travels,” “Series,” and “Nomads.”
These additions are designed to enhance user-friendliness and make it even easier to customize what’s displayed on the map.
Previously, these features were accessed through the map’s settings menu. However, to streamline navigation and save time, they are now conveniently located as buttons directly on the map interface.
Our goal is to provide a map that balances detailed information with a clear, simple overview. These new buttons allow users to seamlessly switch between different views, tailoring the map to their preferences.
As more series are added and as location-sharing becomes increasingly popular, we believe these intuitive customization options will play a key role in improving the overall user experience.
20/11/2024 – Version 2.0.24
We’re introducing location sharing – Nomads Near Me & Around The World. This new feature makes connecting with other nomads around you easier and gives the opportunity to spot other NomadMania users around the world.
Simply open the app, click the menu in the bottom right corner, and select “Location Sharing”.

The use of this feature is never turned on by default. It is 100% up to you if you wish to share your current location. For security reasons, we don’t provide the exact location of people limiting it to a 250-meter radius.
How to see other nomads’ location:
When on the map, choose the filter, and adopt the “Nomads” settings as shown below:

You might want to hide Series in order not to mix landmarks with people if there are many users around.
You can now see other nomads who are also using the location-sharing feature. See who is around or at any other part of the world. Check their profiles and feel free to start the conversation by initiating a chat from their profile.

We’re introducing chat. Now you can send messages to other nomads directly in the app.
Starting a conversation is easy – you can do it from another traveler’s profile or by searching for their name in the messages section.

We may ask for your permission to enable notifications – this will allow you to be notified immediately when someone sends you a message. You can always mute or block anyone you don’t want to chat with.

By swiping left or right on a conversation row, you can access familiar chat features such as pinning (which will move the chat to the top of your list), archiving, muting (you won’t receive notifications for that conversation), or blocking (this will block any incoming messages).

In the chat view, you can swipe left on a message to reply to it. This works for both your messages and the other person’s messages.
By pressing and holding a message, you can access additional options such as reacting, copying, deleting, and replying.

- We updated the main map view of the app, the menu button was moved to the navigation bar at the bottom and profile page is now accessible under the avatar icon in the top right – which aligns it with the view of other Nomads’ profiles (where you see the avatar in top right while viewing the travel map of a Nomad)
- We added new filter options for the main map, now you can see the regions / countries “visited in a year” or “visited by the year” just like in your profile page on the website – please remember that this is possible only if you use our Trips page to fill in your travel data
- We’re introducing the DARE map to the app – now you can see all the DARE places and the ones that you visited will show up in orange (to see the DARE map you have to use the new map filter options).
- Our new filter options also allow you to limit the series that will be displayed on the map – you can choose what type of series you want to see, and whether to show all, visited or not visited items.
