Since the very beginning, NomadMania has offered two ways to track your travels. One method provided more options and detail but required more time, while the other was quicker but more limited.
We’re talking, of course, about Trips and Quick Enter (found in the Regions section of the app and website). Until now, these two systems worked separately, meaning that if you used both, your travel data needed constant reconciliation.
Recently, we launched an update that combines these two methods into one unified system, without major changes to how the Trips or Regions sections look or work.
The key improvement — and an important step for NomadMania’s future — is that your travel data will now come from a single, unified source, eliminating the need for any manual reconciliation between Trips and Regions.
You’ll still be able to add detailed travel information if you wish, but updating your visited regions remains as simple as ever — just one click or tap.
What’s New
Trips
When creating or editing a trip, there are three main improvements:
- Individual region dates – You can now assign dates to each visited region separately. Dates can be precise (exact day) or approximate (month or year).
- Automatic completion – You no longer need to manually mark a region as “completed.” Once the trip date has passed, the region will automatically be considered visited.
- Reordering and repeats – You can now add the same region more than once to a trip and reorder regions freely.
Regions (Quick Enter)
Previously, you could only mark a region as visited and enter your first visit year, last visit year, and number of visits (up to ten). Now, you can log each visit separately, with the option to add full or partial dates — just like in the Trips section.
This system offers more flexibility: if you want, you can build a rich, detailed travel journal. But if you prefer to keep things quick and simple, marking a region as visited is still just as easy as before.
Why This Matters
This new, unified method provides a stronger foundation for recording your travels and enables us to develop new and expanded features in the future. For example:
- Expanded Personalized Statistics
- Trip Planning Tool
- Travel Matching
- etc…
The migration to the new system took considerable time and care. We’ve done our best to accurately convert your existing travel data, but if you notice any discrepancies, please let us know through our contact form.
No data has been deleted, so any issues can be corrected to ensure your travel record remains accurate and up to date.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding — and your continued support of NomadMania!
