We’re thrilled to present an exciting report of the King’s Day celebration that unfolded in The Hague over the weekend. With NomadMania envoy Razvan Bondalici at the helm, and nearly 100 attendees gracing the festivities from the Netherlands and nearby locales, the event was an enriching experience for all involved. Here’s a detailed account of the fantastic activities that captivated our NomadMania attendees!
Day 1: Thursday, April 25
Our festivities commenced with an energetic Royal Pub Crawl in The Hague. Despite the rainy and gloomy Thursday weather, approximately 40 enthusiastic individuals joined the fray, immersing themselves in the city’s nightlife. Participants relished mingling with fellow attendees and uncovering some of Den Haag’s best-kept secrets.
Day 2: Friday, April 26
The day dawned with a delightful beach brunch in Scheveningen, where attendees basked in the sun while savouring delicious seaside fare. Later, a select group had the exclusive opportunity to visit the historic Van Kleef Distillery for a guided tasting experience. From delving into the distillery’s rich history to sampling a diverse array of jenevers and liqueurs, it was a true immersion into Dutch culture. Simultaneously, another segment of the group indulged in authentic Cantonese cuisine.
As dusk fell, we ventured into the heart of The Hague for the King’s Night celebrations. With multiple stages featuring over 40 acts, the city pulsated with music catering to every taste, creating an electrifying atmosphere. This event marked the pinnacle of attendance, with 70-80 revellers joining in the festivities. We concluded the night in a club exclusively reserved for our group, ensuring a finale filled with merriment and camaraderie.
Day 3: Saturday, April 27 – King’s Day
Saturday brimmed with excitement as we embraced the spirit of King’s Day. We explored the bustling free markets, offering a unique platform for vendors to peddle their wares, ranging from second-hand treasures to homemade crafts. Additionally, we immersed ourselves in Dutch customs and traditions in the quaint town of Pijnacker. The day ended with a relaxed barbecue, where friendships were forged and lasting memories were made.
Day 4: Sunday, April 28
Sunday marked the conclusion of our unforgettable weekend with a picturesque Flower Fields Bike tour, guided by our esteemed NomadMania envoy Boris Kester. Participants pedalled through the Dutch countryside, marvelling at the vibrant flower fields in full bloom. Later in the day, a select few embarked on the Green Cruise, a leisurely canal boat trip through The Hague’s waterways. With cocktails, serene vistas, and delightful company, it provided the perfect conclusion to our memorable weekend.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our envoy, Razvan Bondalici, and the Netherlands Travel Club for orchestrating this incredible gathering. Their dedication made this event truly unforgettable.
