A Major Upgrade to Trip Entry and Travel Statistics

16 December, 2025 | Blog, Events reports

This is one of the most important qualitative improvements on NomadMania to date, and a better way to enter and manage your travel data. Our vision is to make NomadMania the world’s best travel tracker. To achieve this, we are designing a system where you enter your travel data once, in one place, and the platform takes care of everything else.

This directly affects: Mapping, Travel history, Statistics, Connections with other members.

To begin this transition, we are introducing the first stage of this new approach. All you need to do is enter the exact dates of your trips in 2025 using the Trips functionality (beta).

*** Available in the latest version of our iOS and Android app. Please update your app to access this feature.

Once entered, you will receive a clear summary of your 2025 travels:

  • X days travelled
  • X countries visited
  • X regions visited

Testing Phase — 2025 Only

We understand that entering visits with precise dates can be difficult and time-consuming. That is why, for now, this feature is enabled only for 2025, making it achievable while delivering a clear and tangible result: your annual travel statistics.

Entering your data is simple and straightforward:

  1. Open the Trips’25 (beta) tab (app or web)
  2. Click Add New Trip
  3. Add a description
  4. Add visits (by region)
  5. Select dates (per visit)
  6. Save the trip

Voilà 🙂 As you add trips, your 2025 Annual Travel Stats will be generated automatically.

If some of your trips are planned for the future, the system will update your statistics daily as you remain on the road.

What happens to Existing Trips?

For the moment, your existing trips remain unchanged.

However, because the previous system did not require exact dates, we are unable to extract accurate statistics from that data. You can therefore expect a gradual transition in this direction in the near future — one we believe will make NomadMania serve you even better.

We have also decided to remove the Visit Quality section, as it does not affect any statistics.

At NomadMania, we believe in clarity: Visited or Not Visited. While we encourage meaningful visits (not just minimal ones), transit is not considered a visit. Please refer to our visit guidelines for more details.

What’s Next?

As this system evolves, we will enable it for previous years as well. Over time, you will be able to build a complete and accurate picture of your entire travel life, filled with rich and invaluable insights.

This will also enhance the map, which you will be able to browse by:

  • UN Countries / NM Regions / DARE Places
  • Visited by / in
  • Year

This transition is also a necessary step towards the upcoming Trip Matching Tool. Imagine two members adding future trips that overlap by region and dates — our system will notify both, allowing you to connect, plan together, or simply meet along the way.

Your Feedback 😊

At this stage, we would like to see how the community adopts this feature. There will likely be a few adjustments to make, and we strongly encourage you to share:

  • Feedback on the data-entry experience
  • Suggestions for improvements
  • Ideas for additional statistics you would like to see
