Last year we hosted the NomadMania Travel Awards in a very interesting way by integrating it with the UN Masters Weekend, which gathered over 70 people who have visited every country on Earth under one (digital) roof.
You can watch the recordings here: Day 1 / Day 2.
As all the winners have now received their trophies — and some have even shared photos — this is a great moment to explain how we are planning to run the Awards this year.
Trips Functionality as a Foundation
In December last year, NomadMania rolled out a system that allows you to precisely track your trips by entering exact dates for each visited region. As a result, we now have highly accurate data that feeds into transparent statistics.
This will form the foundation for the NomadMania Travel Awards 2026.
Here are a few examples of potential nominations:
- The Most Intrepid Traveller — the person who visited the largest number of least-visited regions on NomadMania
- Biggest LPI Traveller — a traveller who visited the largest number of regions using only their passport from a Low Passport Index country
The full list of nominations is still under development, but you get the idea… and by the way, you are very welcome to send us your suggestions 🙂
Transparency and Engagement
What we want to emphasize is that although some categories will still be voted on or decided internally by the NomadMania team (as before), most categories will be determined based on the Trips Functionality, making the entire competition process clear, straightforward, and transparent.
Statistics as of February 16, 2026
You can already check fresh statistics for 2026:
- Nomads who visited the most regions in 2026
- Nomads who visited the most NEW regions in 2026
- Nomads who visited the most countries in 2026
- Nomads who visited the most NEW countries in 2026
It’s getting interesting, right? 🙂
Official Ceremony
The Awards Ceremony will take place on October 24th in Bangkok during the Extraordinary Travel Festival. This is definitely something not to be missed.
We will start actively preparing for the NomadMania Travel Awards in the second half of the year, after conducting our Conference #6 in Brazil.
Stay tuned — more details will follow!
