Day 2: South Moldova & Gagauzia (DARE Day)
[August 22, 2026]
Today we head south to explore a vital part of the cultural mosaic of Moldova—the semi-autonomous region of Gagauzia, known for its distinct Turkish-Christian cultural roots. Our route takes us through Taraclia and surrounding villages, home to the country’s Bulgarian minority and recognized as NomadMania DARE zones. In the capital, Comrat, we will focus on the region’s unique heritage and its role in Moldova’s complex ethnic map, moving beyond a strict focus on physical artworks to appreciate the broader social fabric. To ensure a smooth flow for the day, lunch will be pre-booked for the group.
Return to Chișinău in the evening.

Day 3: Orhei and Soroca’s Hidden Corners
[August 23, 2026]
Today’s journey into the “Mosaic of Moldova” takes us northeast to the country’s interior gems. Our first stop is Orhei, where we explore ancient and modern layers of history, specifically the iconic cave monasteries. We then travel toward the outskirts of Soroca to visit a unique gypsum village, renowned for its unusual architecture and vibrant wall art. The day offers a look at concrete realism and surreal rural backdrops that define this region’s character. To maintain the group’s rhythm, lunch will be pre-booked in advance.
Overnight in Chișinău.

Day 4: Transnistria
[August 24, 2026]
Today, we cross the unofficial border into the unrecognized state of Transnistria, a region often described as the “quintessence” of Moldova’s political complexity. This full-day excursion includes visits to Tiraspol and the historic Bender Fortress. We will immerse ourselves in the uniquely preserved Soviet atmosphere, characterized by Lenin statues, hammer-and-sickle symbolism, and tank monuments. To ensure the group’s schedule remains efficient during this intensive day, lunch will be pre-booked in advance. Return to Chișinău in the evening.

Day 5: Western Moldova: Ungheni, Nisporeni, Călărași
[August 25, 2026]
We conclude our journey through Moldova by heading west toward the Romanian border. This day focuses on the charm of small provincial towns like Ungheni, known for its frontier feel and arched bridge, as well as Nisporeni and Călărași. We will explore the local civic buildings and schools to view regional art and architecture. This final day is designed to be flexible, providing guests time to pack or explore Chișinău further, with a schedule that accommodates easy airport drop-offs for those with evening flights. To keep the day running smoothly, lunch will be pre-booked for the group.
